Carbon neutrality is a national priority and, under the new circumstances, a consensus gradually reached by major countries around the world today.
Following the proposal of the "3060" goals, the National Energy Administration explicitly stated during the 2021 Two Sessions that it would formulate more proactive new energy development plans to accelerate "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality." The "14th Five‑Year Plan" period is a critical time for China to achieve its carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. The introduction of the "dual carbon" targets will promote the adjustment and upgrading of China's energy and related industries, enabling high‑quality economic development and ushering in a historic turning point for carbon emission reduction. To achieve the national goal of carbon neutrality, analysis of current data shows that coal accounts for 54% of China's primary energy structure. By 2050, China's total annual energy consumption will be lower than it is today, and the share of coal will drop to a very low level. The entire energy industry will undergo a fundamental transformation. On March 15, the Yongjia Oubei Fire Department in Wenzhou received an emergency call reporting that a resident was trapped in an elevator. At the time of the malfunction, one passenger was riding the elevator alone to the 16th floor. After a power outage, the elevator stopped and the passenger was trapped inside.
